Music festival celebrates all faiths 6 June , 2011

WAPPINGERS FALLS — Music was the mode of worship as hundreds flocked Sunday to the New Hackensack Church.

“We call this an interfaith music festival,” said Ed Koziol, executive director of the Dutchess County Interfaith Council, or DCIC, host of the Many Faces of God Interfaith Music Festival.

“The DCIC is dedicated to promoting the positive and cooperative interaction between people of different religious disciplines,” Koziol said.

Koziol spoke before an audience of about 300 people of varying race, creeds and religious backgrounds.

He quoted theologian Gustav Niebuhr: “What holds society together is not just people who will tolerate others, but people who will actually go beyond that, to provide the glue that nourishes social relationships.”
